White Makes Good on Promise, Takes Home Victory at Music City
Motorplex
Nashville, Tennessee,
August 8, 2008 – Chevy White is a man of his word. After a tough
night the week before when the engine blew while running in the top
5, White PROMISED his car owner is he put the car back together, he
would win the next race, and that is exactly what he did Friday
night at the Motorplex. On Dollar Night/Double Points night
presented by Coors Light, White, from Columbia, set the fast time
and led all but the first lap as he cruised to victory over Dillion
Oliver of Bowling Green, Andy Johnson of MT Juliet, and Mark Day
from Clarksville. On a night that featured Sterling Marlin back in
action, Marlin had engine troubles and was forced to call it quits
after only 12 laps.
Points leader Andy
Johnson kept his points lead and will try to clinch the NASCAR
championship with only two more point races left for the NASCAR
Whelen All American Late Model Division.
Daniel Victory from
Smyrna made it two feature wins in a row as he stretched his Super
Truck Division points lead by leading from start to finish as the40
lap feature was ran caution free. Daniel Bolden from Cane Ridge was
second followed by Clint Crowell, Jess Williams, and Bobby Buttrey
from Fairview.
The NASCAR Grand National
Division had probably the best show of the night as there were
several lead changes over the 30 lap feature event. Eddie Taylor set
fast time and was able to work his way to the front to claim the top
prize. John Leeland led the first 14 laps in his best showing of the
year as was finally passed by point leader Lee Goddard who led 7
laps until Taylor was able to claim the lead on lap 21 and cruise to
victory. Taylor was followed by Goddard and Wayne White in third .
Jeffrey Belt, currently fourth in the point standings, and last
weeks winner, had mechanical troubles and was not able to start the
feature event
